The municipality of Knjaževac received 4 machines
The Municipality of Knjaževac procured 4 working machines from the project of the Joint Measure for Green Infrastructure, as follows: Tipper truck, Backhoe loader, Skid steer loader, Tractor with trailer.
The project is currently in the phase of inspecting watercourses and problematic places, so that work can begin in the spring. Afforestation is also planned in the zone of the Minićevska river and the Jelašnička river.
In the previous period, Knjaževac was exposed to the risk of floods, and the villages and fields were flooded on several occasions. With the cleaning of rivers, the risk of flooding would be significantly reduced.
The project manager, Miroljub Božinović, pointed out the great importance for both municipalities: “First of all, we will clean the river courses and banks, we will clean the garbage and deposited material and thus reduce the risks of river overflow.”
In the next phase, afforestation is planned in the zone of the Minićevska river and the Jelašnička river. The procurement of planting material for afforestation of coastal areas is currently underway. “
Education of the population related to the maintenance of riverbeds and afforestation, as well as the need to preserve the environment, is also planned.
